Long before the giant blockbuster films of today, there were movies that featured names like Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks, Mary Pickford, and Buster Keaton. Their audiences never heard them speak a word! They were the pioneers of early cinema, the roots of the great movies of today.
Jay Warren will present a fun-filled, fast-paced show telling the story of early cinema and the importance of music in telling the story on screen. Our students will see movie clips from 1903 and hear how the music selection set the mood for each scene. It all concludes with a complete comedy short with authentic theatre accompaniment!
